How to Get Started on a Scrapbook Project (Preparing Your Scrapbook)

!±8± How to Get Started on a Scrapbook Project (Preparing Your Scrapbook)

Getting started on your very first scrapbook project can be scary, especially if you have absolutely no idea what you're supposed to do first. However, don't give up just because you feel overwhelmed. All the successful scrapbookers that you know all started from the bottom, so you're already in good company. All you need is a little bit of guidance, and you will soon find this hobby to be a very enjoyable activity for years to come.

When you start on your first scrapbook project, the first step is asking a few questions to yourself: Why am I creating this scrapbook? What size and style of an album will I need, and what materials should I get to complete my album? It is also important that you think about the easiest and most cost-effective way to design and complete your scrapbook.

You should also consider how many photos you may want to mount on your album, and if they are too many or too few. Do you already have copies of the photos you want to use, or will you be using originals? (Not recommended.) How much time can I spend every day on my scrapbooking?

Choosing the size and style of the album you will be using plays a very important role in how you will then proceed with the rest of your scrapbook project. There are many album styles and sizes to choose from. Just pay a quick visit to any crafts store and you'll see what I mean. The most common sizes are the 12"x12" and the 9"x9" sizes. There are also a few other sizes available, but these two are the most used among scrapbookers. If you feel intimidated by the large 12"x12" album, you can downgrade to a 9"x9" or even 8"x10" size.

For the album style, feel free to get one that fits your needs at the moment. If you get stuck in this step, I recommend going with one of the many themed albums available in the shop, since this is your first time working on a scrapbook project. There are albums that are best suited for portraits, for wedding themes, for birthdays, and for other special occasions. You can also find many albums with a nature theme or sports theme. Themed albums such as the examples I mentioned can really help out a beginner who's having difficulty trying to think of an album style for his first project.

After this, you will then need to choose which album would you prefer -- a ringed album, a post-bound album, or a strap-hinged album. The most commonly used album type is one with a three-ring binder. It's easy for beginners to refill, remove or add more pages to this type of album. And because the pages are easily removed, you won't feel pressured to fill the entire album all at once. (I realize this sounds stupid, but it really happens with a lot of beginners!)

The strap-hinged scrapbook album is also a popular choice. A lot of veteran scrapbookers love to use this album type, especially if they use bulky embellishments in their pages. The strap-hinged albums can easily accommodate the dimensional elements in scrapbooks today, and are also made of high-quality materials. making them more durable and expensive than the other types of albums in the market. If you can afford to buy one of these, then it's going to be worth every penny. But I would recommend waiting for a sale at your local crafts store, or maybe search for a coupon.

If you're just starting out, however, it's a good idea to use a three-ring album first. Moreover, you should keep in mind that using a ringed album does not necessarily mean you're creating low quality work, because not all veteran scrapbookers use strap-hinged albums, anyway.

A post-bound album uses metal binding posts (hence the name) to secure the scrapbook pages in between the covers. The main disadvantage of using a post-bound album is that you need to disassemble the album and take out the pages to insert or remove the page you want. Other than that, using a post-bound album is also a good choice.

If you're still not sure which type of album to buy for your first scrapbook project, you can try asking some knowledgeable friends for help. You can discuss what you're looking for in an album, and they can pitch in with suggestions or advice of their own. Asking someone for their opinion is never a bad option in this case.

If you want, you can also try looking for different album covers to match the theme you want. There are album covers with a frame in the center for mounting photographs, and of course, lots of covers that fit a certain theme, like special occasions or events. You can even choose if you want linen covers, or those made of leather or vinyl. Ask the shop owner or salesperson if they can customize the album cover for you, like embossing a name or title on the front, etc.

So now you have decided which album to buy. The next step is getting some page protectors. Your crafts shop will probably carry a wide selection of page protectors in a variety of sizes, so it won't take you long to find a set that fits your album perfectly. The most important thing to remember when buying page protectors is that you avoid buying anything that has PVC in it. PVC contains acid that will destroy your photos and pages over time, and scrapbookers all over the world know that using acid-free materials is the only way to go if they want to preserve their scrapbooks in the best condition possible for years to come.

If you can afford it, try to buy as many page protectors as you can. Buy a few sets that you can use for at least two or three more albums. This way, you will save yourself from having to go on a shopping trip every time you want to start a new scrapbook project. To save even more time and money, try to buy page protectors in bulk. You can also trim them down to size if you want to use them later for smaller-sized albums.

Aside from the albums and page protectors, you're also going to need a few basic supplies to get started on your scrapbook project. Right off the bat, you're going to need adhesives. When I talk about adhesives, though, I don't mean only the ordinary white liquid glue that most people use at home or in school. There are several kinds of adhesives that scrapbookers use for their projects, and all of them should be acid-free.

There are different kinds of adhesives specifically used for mounting photos, such as photo squares or photo splits. Scrapbookers love using these because they can easily remove and reattach photographs (and other memorabilia or embellishments) without defacing the rest of the page. There are also glue sticks for attaching other elements to your pages, although I don't recommend using these in areas of high humidity.

Never, ever use water-based adhesives like the popular Elmer's Glue or rubber cement. These adhesives are not made for scrapbooking, precisely because they are not safe for using on photographs. Acid-free materials, remember?

Of course, you cannot create scrapbooks without paper. You will need to buy some background paper to mount on your page, before attaching all the other elements like photos, journaling, and embellishments. The style, pattern, and color of the paper you will buy depends on your personal preferences and the theme you are using for your scrapbook project.

But no matter what style of paper you choose, always remember to buy the ones that have low acid content, and also lignin-free. To determine the acid content of paper, make sure to look at the packaging label. If it has a pH level of 7 or higher, it is safe to use for your scrapbooking.

In choosing the style, pattern, and colors for your background paper, it would help if you consider the photos you will be mounting on the page. How would the photos look with the paper as the background? If you can, try to bring a few photos with you (the ones you're going to use in your scrapbook) when you go shopping for paper. Find some papers you like, then take out a photo and place it on top of the paper to see what it would look like. For this reason, I highly recommend picking out the photos you will be using for your scrapbook before going out to buy some background papers.

After buying background paper, you should go look for cardstock. If you can afford it, it would be better to buy cardstock in bulk, rather than individually. Cardstock are great for a variety of purposes. Scrapbookers use them for mounting photos or adding some accents to photos, plus they can also be used to add dimension to pages. You can check out a few of my other articles for more ways to use cardstock in scrapbooking.

Next item on the list should be a pen or two. Some would use permanent markers, so it's your choice. A black pen will be great, but you should also buy a white pen if you can. This way, you will have at least two choices when it's time to do some journaling later on. A white pen looks stunning on darker backgrounds, and much easier to read. You can also use these pens to write down any information on the photos and even on the page itself. Of course, the pens should use permanent ink, be acid-free, and waterproof.

You will then need scissors for cutting, cropping, and trimming. A simple pair of scissors will do if you're just starting out, and you can buy a few more pairs for specialized purposes later on as you need them. But whatever kind of scissors you are using, you should always check to see that they are clean and sharp. Using a dull pair of scissors will do more harm than good, especially for your scrapbooking. Whether you're using ordinary or decorative scissors, you will want to have them always sharp, so that they produce a clean edge every time.

For embellishments, you can easily find a good selection in your local crafts shop. Bigger stores even have whole shelves dedicated to scrapbooking embellishments alone. They are available in pre-packaged kits with a common theme, so if you're looking for embellishments to fit your birthday, wedding, or Christmas scrapbook, you won't have a difficult time looking for embellishments to match.

Aside from the kits, you can always find embellishments being sold individually, so you can easily mix and match those you need. If you're buying stickers or any other embellishments that have adhesives on them, make sure that they are also acid-free.

If you don't have a designated table or working surface for your scrapbooking, you can use any table at your home, but I recommend that you cover the table first with an old tablecloth or sheet. Some scrapbookers use old newspapers if they don't have a spare cloth, so you can also consider this option. Using a cover allows you to protect the surface of the table you are working on, as well as catch any drips from your liquid materials such as glue, paint, or ink.

Some other supplies that you will need can be found right inside your home, like a ruler, tweezers, cotton swabs, and cookie cutters. A ruler is indispensable if you want to produce straight lines and edges, while tweezers can be used to pick up tiny items that are impossible to grab with your fingers. They are also great for precision handling while you attach small objects to your page.

Cotton swabs, on the other hand, can be use for mopping up small drops of liquid on your page (like glue and ink), and you can use cookie cutters for creating templates for embellishments, etc. Buying templates at crafts shops can be expensive, especially if you're buy often, so using cookie cutters can save you some money in the long run.

These are the basic supplies and materials that you will need for your first scrapbook projects. You will eventually find yourself needing more tools and materials as your skills and interest in the craft progresses, but I recommend that you do not buy all of the materials at once. You will just waste money because you won't be able to use all of them when you're just starting out, so it's better to wait until you've been scrapbooking for a while and you feel like you can comfortably step up to the next level.

For your "advanced" shopping list, I suggest getting a paper punch, die cuts, mulberry paper, and rubber stamps.

A paper punch, if used properly and creatively, can be worth many times over the price that you paid for it. You can create dozens of designs and embellishments using this tool, and the price itself is relatively inexpensive. Paper punches are actually one of the earliest tools to be used by scrapbookers and it is still a favorite among scrappers today. There are paper punches for a wide variety of shapes, designs, and functions which you can usually buy at the nearest crafts shop.

Die cuts are used to dress up your pages in lots of gorgeous ways. They are made out of a variety of materials like paper, cardstock, vinyl, and foam. Scrapbooking veterans love to use them to decorate their layouts, and you can easily find a huge selection of die cut embellishments in almost every shape, size, and color that matches the theme or design you are going for. If you happen to have a die cutting machine at home, then you can create your own custom die cuts and won't even have to go to the store to buy some.

Mulberry paper is a special kind of paper that is used not only for scrapbooking, but in a variety of other crafts as well. It is a handmade, fibrous specialty paper that is often mistaken for rice paper. Mulberry paper can be used for creating textured backgrounds or for layering, and it is also quite translucent (although not as much as vellum paper).

Rubber stamps are used by both beginner and advanced scrapbookers alike. They are very useful for adding ink-based embellishments to a scrapbook page, and they are very easy to use. Just take a few minutes to practice so that you can get the hang of it and learn how to apply just the right amount of pressure, and you will soon find yourself enjoying this useful tool for your scrapbook projects.

Now that you have the album, the materials, and the tools, you just need to consider how much time you can afford to spend for your new hobby. Don't pressure yourself on spending two or three hours every day if you cannot handle it at the moment. remember that the quality of your work is not really dependent on the number of hours you spent on it. Just set aside a specific amount of time each day that you feel comfortable with, and use that as a guide.

Try to follow that guide as much as possible so that you learn to be consistent, but don't stress out yourself if there are times when you cannot. Last but not the least, I recommend working on only one scrapbook project at a time. Don't put too much on your plate, because that is one surefire way to get frustrated and give up early. Scrapbooking is supposed to be enjoyable, not stressful.

For the next part of this series, I will be discussing how to organize and crop your photos, so watch out for that!

Aggression, Technique, and Strength - Use Them As Tools, Don't Be a Tool

!±8± Aggression, Technique, and Strength - Use Them As Tools, Don't Be a Tool

What do you think of when you hear the word aggression? Is it anger? Is it the drive of an ambitious career person or the annoying talkativeness of someone who won't let you get a word in? Are people who like to argue aggressive in the same way as someone that fights in the UFC? Like so many words, aggression has many definitions. The psychology of aggression is beyond my scope and knowledge, so I'm just going to discuss what I know of aggression and how it can be a useful tool-and how it will turn you into a tool if you're not careful.

3 Definitions of Aggression From The Oxford English Dictionary (The Only Dictionary Worth Quoting)

1. An unprovoked attack; the first attack in a quarrel; an assault, an inroad.

2. The practice of setting upon any one; the making of an attack or assault.

3. Hostile or destructive tendency or behaviour, held to arise from repressed feelings of inferiority, frustration or guilt. (Except in textbooks not clearly distinguishable from senses 1 or 2.) Also, feeling or energy displayed in asserting oneself, in showing drive or initiative; aggressiveness, assertiveness, forcefulness.

If you've ever seen a video online of someone doing something strong like lifting a weight, you've probably heard some heavy music in the background. I confess, my own weight-room playlist is predictable: lots of macho, sweating, screaming, pained men howling about how much It All Hurts. Music that is aggressive. Music that I love when the time is right even though I can't really relate to it anymore.

I sort of wish it didn't, because crazed aggression seems potentially at odds with the issue of technique. Everyone talks about technique being a requisite for great strength. Greater technique equals greater efficiency of movement in a lift. Corrections in technique can lead to instant gains, sometimes impressive gains, just through some tweaks.

Does perfect technique require perfect focus? I believe it does. Mark Ripptoe's excellent book Starting Strength has about 90 pages on the squat alone. If you are to keep those 90 pages in mind while you're under the bar, shouldn't you be paying attention to what you're doing? In the hardstyle kettlebell system, you're not supposed to do a single rep that you can't do perfectly

But does working yourself into a raving fit just before a big lift improve your focus? Well...have you seen that commercial with the guy who benches the Harley? It starts with his woman slapping his face off to psyche him up...

...I'm not going to tell a guy who can bench a Harley that he should be paying more attention. Results don't lie, but that doesn't mean that if you shaved your head and scowled more that you could bench even a tiny dirt bike.

In the great strength book Dinosaur Training, Brooks Kubik says he literally "growls at the bar" before he lifts it. So has he lost focus during his foaming-at-the-mouth psyche-up routines? He can lift more than I can, so I won't try to answer that question. Also, Brooks has really cool glasses.

Types of Aggression

Reactive

Reactive aggression isn't learned or planned. Have you ever hit your head on the corner of a cupboard? If you're like me, you react with anger and slam the door before running off to try to get sympathy from someone. The anger flares, and it can heat up even more since there's nothing to take that anger out on. The cupboard doesn't care about your stinging head. But just because the anger/aggression is misplaced doesn't mean it isn't real. It feels real enough.

Proactive

Proactive aggression is just what it sounds like: being aggressive on purpose. Proactive aggression can wear a lots of hats. Being purposefully aggressive usually has something to do with a goal. If you're trying to climb the corporate ladder, your ambition might require you to behave "aggressively." If you want to be the one who gets the bigger piece of the wishbone at Thanksgiving, you might have to snap your teeth and flex a little bit to get your brother to back off.

Proactive aggression can be a blend of assertiveness and ambition. It can be negative or positive. Backstabbing to get ahead at work is assertive, but it's not a great habit. The Alpha Male attitude can get you far by way of aggressive networking, charisma, and influence. It can also be a huge disaster and give you an abysmal rating on the PR scale.

Back To The Definitions

I think the key to knowing how to control aggression and use it as a tool for good, rather than just looking like a big jerk, is to know your motivations for behaving aggressively (assertively, proactively, you can pick). Here's definition 3 one more time:

Hostile or destructive tendency or behaviour, held to arise from repressed feelings of inferiority, frustration or guilt.

The monkey who drops his banana isn't howling because he's repressing his feelings of inferiority, frustration, and guilt. He's mad because he wanted to eat that banana and now it's floating down the river. The abusive or toxic person who will do anything to get ahead or dominate another human isn't doing it reactively, at least not at first. Anything can become a habit. If you proactively behave like a douche and lash out on purpose just because it makes you feel powerful, that will become your default reaction and your douchey behavior will eventually be reflexive.

As with all other human qualities, and as with technique during kettlebell lifts, yoga sessions, or benching Harley's, you must:

focus on what you're doing know why you're doing it reevaluate constantly to adapt reevaluate constantly to ensure yourself that you're making the progress you want and becoming who you want to be

Reactive aggression is not goal-oriented or caused by ego trouble. Proactive aggression can help you reach your goals but needs to masked in appropriate behavior and humility. Proactive aggression can be very useful if you can learn how to turn it on, and you are using good practices and technique. If you can foam at the mouth in the gym and not sacrifice technique, go for it. If you can aggressively maneuver your way to the top of the corporate ladder without making enemies and alienating everyone around you, go for it.

If turning his hat around and snarling helped Sylvester Stallone out-armwrestle that giant guy in the pink shirt at the end of Over The Top, good for him. Maybe I'll try it. If Ebenezer Scrooge got rich at the expense of his friends, family, humanity, and Public Relations ranking, I want no part of him in my life.

And again, I'm not going to tell Brooks Kubik he can't bite the bar in half if that's what does it for him. Results don't lie. If that lady from the Harley video came and slapped me around before I went over to Gold's, maybe I could finally nail that dainty 10 lb tricep kickback that I've been chasing for so long.

Heads Up! The Way You Are Sleeping May Be Killing You!

!±8± Heads Up! The Way You Are Sleeping May Be Killing You!

Each of us has a secret double life.

For about two thirds of the time we are conscious beings, thinking about the world inside and out, and negotiate our way through life's obstacles. For the other third of the time we are nearly lifeless lump of flesh, unconscious, everything, but our imagination, like lying down in bed to sleep. We all know that sleep is important for health. But for an activity that consumes about 8 hours of daily life, surprisingly little act of sleeping, or the way in which our culture teaches us to think of sleep. Sleep behavior, like all human activities, is defined by our culture.

Sometimes the practices taught by our culture to the way our bodies function effects. As medical anthropologists, we are able to research the possibilities of our cultural practices, our health. And we discovered that the way in which it may have been trained to sleep in one of the leading causes of various diseases that afflictour society.

Of course, if you consider the culture of sleep, has isues such as length of time to sleep, to sleep and time of day. Frequent naps or sleep up to 8 hours in a row? Sleep at night or day?

Other issues include sleepwear. Sleep naked or with pajamas or underwear? Sleep in your underwear? If the leaves are natural fabrics like cotton or silk or polyester okay? And washing and fabricPlasticizers used in the sheets, pillows, and pj?

You should eat before bed? What are the effects of television before going to sleep? You should take sleeping pills to help you sleep?

These are some of the culturally defined issues, which were to help, as we all sleep, some of which have potential effects on health. However, there is a cultural issue that tops the list of importance, and that can lead to health a lot. It has to do with sleepLocation. You sleep on a hard bed, flat, face down, compressing the nose and eyes out of bed and pillow? Or are you on your back with your head slightly raised, how to use it to sleep is the case with many indigenous cultures, hammocks, or other uneven surfaces?

The reason why this question is because the last movement is the brain and the brain all together on your posture during sleep.

All of us had experienced, period or vertigoLightheadedness when getting up from bed too fast. This effect is called orthostatic hypotension, and the result of the fact that the blood pressure when you lie down and sudden increase in the head falls temporarily deprives the brain of sufficient blood pressure, leading to dizziness or lightheadedness. Blood pressure increases rapidly, making the blood supply to the brain, how it feels normal again.

This phenomenon indicates that the relative position of the body affects the severityHead and brain circulation. You can also view this one stands head, many yoga practitioners do every day. Intracranial pressure increases dramatically as the blood flows to inflate the head, which is bright red and the veins of the neck, as pools of blood in the venous system.

But apart from these examples, very little, if any, is in medical textbooks of physiology and the severity of its effects mentioned on the circuit. However, no one can fully understand brain circulation, withouttaking into account the gravity.

The effect of gravity on brain circulation is purely mechanical, and refers to the position of the head than the heart pumping. When we get up, is the head above the heart, so it must pump blood against gravity - from the heart to the brain - the reduction of the effective pressure which is transferred to the arterial blood in the brain. Meanwhile, drain the blood from the brain, helps the heart by a train of gravity.

InIn contrast, when we lie down and horizontal, are the heart and the head now in the same plane. This eliminates the effects of gravity on the cerebral circulation. The heart pumps blood in the head with force, without resistance of gravity, increasing intracranial pressure. And again the blood from the brain to the heart must do so without the help of gravity, causing a backup of blood in the brain.

In practice, it increases the intracranial pressure and brain circulation in general, when you are relaxed in comparison to a halt.

Of course, the body is intelligent and has mechanisms for monitoring intracranial pressure in conditions of different severity. When the brain receives the pressure of lying, there are various pressure receptors in the head and neck developed to lower blood pressure, which is blowing too much pressure on the brain and the possibility of a blood vessel or the creation of an aneurysm brain. Therefore, blood pressure is lower when we sleep, and horizontally.

But these mechanisms to regulate the pressure in the brain has a limit. As we go all day in an upright position, gravity pulls our bodily fluids inexorably downwards, and that is why many people have swollen feet and ankles at the end of the day. When we sleep, the effect of gravity is lost, as the fluid leaves your legs and return to the head. So, despite our brains normal defense mechanisms, through the night and increased intracranial pressure is higher in the morningafter hours flat, and the lowest at the end of the day, vertically hours.

What happens if the intracranial pressure is high for a long time flat? Increased blood pressure causes extra spinal fluid in the form of increased intracranial pressure, cerebral ventricles. The ventricles swell and the brain cells are surrounded by excess fluid, mainly caused by cerebral edema. This edema would lower the available oxygen and glucose for the brainCells. The absence of assisted gravity drainage from the brain would cause a backup of blood in the venous system and the collection of the sinuses in the brain. The brain of the cycle would be relatively stagnant, as the only force that moves through the blood would be the thrust of the blood pressure (which is strongly reduced after cerebral circulation) and the suction force of the right atrium of the heart to be. And in addition to brain swelling under the pressure of the eyes, ears,Face, nose, mouth - the entire head - is subjected to pressure overload and the tissue with the liquid!

There is a field of medicine that studies diligently the effect of gravity on physiology. The sub-specialty is aerospace medicine. Astronauts in space are in a zero gravity field, and we know that this causes the blood to move to the head and brain, associated with increased intracranial pressure and concomitant migraine, glaucoma, Meniere's disease and other problems with pressure arecongested brain. To study the effects of weightlessness on earth these rocket scientists are people lying flat! However, because the medicine is a field so vast, with various specializations to learn more and more about less and less, there is little exchange between the near-earth space medicine and medicine. Otherwise someone might recognize that it is flat, we need to do when we sleep. If it causes problems for astronauts, it could lead to problems, for everyoneelse?

We found out about this exploration of space, while we conducted our research positions in sleep as a possible cause of migraine. We hypothesized that sleeping too flat for too long each night might intracranial pressure and fluid retention (edema) results in brain tissue associated with hypoxia and hypoglycemia. The brain can not function properly without adequate amounts of oxygen or sugar, and this state would be the worst in the morning, what with most migraine. Occur

While migraine has been thought of as a pathological phenomenon, it is also possible that the defense mechanism of migraine is the brain's blood with oxygen and sugar again. After all, the only way to get what it needs from the brain blood flow, and during a migraine, open the arteries in the head and send blood to the brain with violence. Perhaps we have established that migraine is a type of emergency "in the brain", replacing old with new blood. If so, couldwe prevent sleep in patients with migraine headache with the head slightly raised?

We tested our theory by about 100 volunteers, patients with migraine with the heads of their beds, sleeping increased from 10 to 30 degrees. Elevation head, we theorized, would be the brain circulation, improving some of the gravity drainage help. And 'interesting, we discovered that the space medicine, the researchers found that the circulation of the brain (and heart pumping function), optimally at a 30 degree headElevation.

To our surprise, we found that most patients with migraine in our study experienced relief at rest, this simple change! Many had not again after migraine patients with migraine for 30 years or more! The results were very fast, within a few days. And it was very interesting side effects. Our volunteers woke up more alert. Morning sinus congestion was significantly reduced for most people. Some have reported that they no longer had any allergies.Could have discovered the true purpose and the cause of migraine?

The implications of these results were, frankly, surprising for us. Many diseases are on the rise in intracranial pressure due to "unknown". Home position has never been investigated as the cause of this increased pressure. The implications go far beyond the prevention and treatment of migraine. Any condition that is associated with increased intracranial pressure, and that is usually worse in the morning after a night of horizontal time canpotentially related to that of gravity and sleep position.

Remember that control of the central nervous system of the brain and change all bodily functions. If some congested centers of the brain's sleep and put under pressure too low for long hours every day, these centers can not function properly. Depending on how a person sleeps, the peculiarities of their brain circulation and other variables to different people can experience this pressure in the brain differently. For some, the respiratory center in the hypothalamus may be particularly congested, leading to sudden infant death syndrome (which has been associated with the head and body position during sleep together), sleep apnea, or even asthma. Sleep apnea has been shown to be treatable with changes in sleeping position.

Strokes are clearly associated with increased intracranial pressure, and usually occur at night or early morning hours during sleep. This is when the intracranial pressure is higher.

Glaucoma is clearly caused bythis mechanism. E 'already known that the intraocular pressure rises and falls when the head down when the head is high. It 'important to note the position of the head while taking the values of pressure in the eye sensitive to Because of this relationship between intraocular pressure and head position. Eye pressure is also higher in the early morning. Raise the head during routine sleep should for the treatment and prevention of glaucoma.

Wide eyes and breasts seem related to the headPressure. Just as the brain becomes more pressure when lying down, are the head and face pressure, too. People with these problems usually find relief by sleeping elevated 10-30 degrees.

Alzheimer's disease, we believe, the end of the disease, the brain can be caused by chronic congestion and pressure caused by the shallow sleep as possible. The ventricles are enlarged brains of Alzheimer's disease, what can a history of ventricular pressure and generalized lesions along the ventricle suggestAreas of brain tissue, which were damaged by this pressure chronic. Other studies have shown that Alzheimer's is associated with increased intracranial pressure, but the cause was considered unknown, as is the case with almost all the problems of intracranial pressure.

It should be noted that the blood-brain barrier can not function properly when put under pressure. Excessive intracranial pressure can cause leaks in the barrier due to the expansion of the basement membrane, so that heavy metals such as aluminumand mercury, as well as viruses and bacteria that enter the brain, which would otherwise have to be excluded. This may be why some brain problems with heavy metals, such as Alzheimer's disease have been linked.

Attention Deficit Disorder and hyperactivity is also known to play with the "pulse" in the brain that helps control the behavior together. We found several children with ADHD experience a profound improvement in self-control, raising his head, whileSleep.

In addition to the head position with respect to gravity, we also found the side or tummy sleeping may cause problems. For example, we found several cases of sleep related carpal tunnel syndrome in hands and wrists, and shoulder pain from sleeping on the side. And keep in mind that the pressure head increases and the drainage decreases, when the head is turned sideways. Sleep on your back to avoid compression of the limbs and internal organs.

It 'also interesting to notethat patients with problems of asymmetry is generally worse than the sleep. For example, eye for eye disease is not on the side of the face, the more sleep. Ear infections will be worse for the ear "down". You can also say that a person is sleeping on the side observing the shape of the nose. Apart from accidents, the nose should be symmetrical, but from the pillow, because sleeping on the side of the face and the pressure on the curved nose for hoursevery night. The nose is the side that most slept on point.

Men should be noted, that can sleep on the side of testicular cancer and possible compression can cause malfunctions. And women who sleep on your stomach or side below the breast to pressure and circulation problems. Side sleepers can accommodate more problems on the breast of it.

We must tell the doctor, however, that while the effect is the rise of the head during sleep dramaticallyand transformation for many patients and should be considered essential for prevention strategies, the fact is that many people change their behavior to resist sleep. They have been conditioned to sleep on a certain type of birth. And even if they change their sleeping position, it is difficult to ensure compliance, if the person is unconscious! It takes enormous will power to change the behavior of sleep. But it is worthwhile to see how people usually within a weekIncreased sleep.

We found the best methods for the collection of heads with more cushion with a wedge of foam, placing blocks under the legs of the bed frame at the head of the bed or on an adjustable bed. While the ideal location is high with 10 to 30 degrees head elevation of 10 degrees is fine for starters. The legs should be slightly increased, too, and the person should try to stay on your back as much as possible. The ideal position is that it would be ifMake yourself comfortable in an armchair. (Chairs would be nice to use, too, but usually give little support for your lower back.) Also note that some people find a level of growth than others. People with low blood pressure have the head lower than those with higher blood pressure. Others may have some neck and shoulder complaints about the new location. But by experimenting with pillows under his arm, under the buttocks (to avoid slippingthe bed), and under the feet and legs, the patient should see a simple solution.

Recognize when taking the history into force, the neck injury and neck muscles tight, the venous drainage of the brain affected by the compression of the jugular veins through the tight muscles. Neck massage and spinal adjustments can help the general circulation of the brain. We had a couple of circumstances where there is little or no improvement from the height of man, but the subjects had a history ofWhiplash injuries.

Of course there are times when people feel dizzy, lie down need to get more blood to the head. It could also better for people less sleep during the night and lost sleep with a nap or a siesta during the day. That would avoid the extremes of high and low intracranial pressure. But our culture, it is necessary for most people to do all their beds at one time. Sleep, is ultimately a cultural issue. The point is to be aware of how you feel, andrecognize that your body can be positioned relative to gravity is an important factor in health and disease.

We will continue this action of gravity and sleep position on health research and encourage operators to communicate the experiences of their patients' with us. We are also very strongly recommend that you read our book, Get It Up! It reveals the surprising lifestyle simple migraine, Alzheimer's, stroke, glaucoma, sleep apnea, impotence, and a number of causes! (ISCD Press, 2001), where we discussthe profound importance of this theory, including a long list of references to various diseases and intracranial pressure and the effect of gravity on brain circulation. When you see the evidence, you are probably as surprised as we that sleep research has ignored this critical aspect of sleep.

Sleep in the flat all day, the biggest mistake people are making lifestyle in our culture. Some of the worst diseases of our time can be in our bed!
